Heartbreak Hotel

This will sound like complete bullshit, but it's true.

Heartbreak Hotel is likely in Duncan.  See, the song was written by Hoyt Axton's mother Mae Boren Axton.  She worked at a hotel in Duncan.  That Hotel is still there.  It has multiple connections to Duncan history.  While not completely provable, it is likely the song was about events at that hotel.

It is completely believable that this hotel was the one she was writing about.  At the time, the hotel sat at the intersection of main where main stopped.  Main continued on the east side of the railroad tracks, but to get there, it was almost a mile ride around the lack of roads across the tracks.

Part of the maze of roads is still evident both North and South of Main street.
